Ann Cantrell

Ann Cantrell is both an entrepreneur and an academic, owning Annie’s Blue Ribbon General Store in Brooklyn, NY and also teaching full time as associate professor in the Fashion Business Management Department at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. Her store is a cornerstone for the neighborhood bringing joy and purpose to Brooklyn (and beyond with a robust online presence) for 15 years. Her passion and interest in sustainability started at an early age when her parents moved “off the grid before there was a grid” and shunned city life for farmland. With an (S)MBA, her concentration on sustainable and triple bottom line businesses is an important part of her daily life from store operations to sourcing.
